I am José Octavio García Lara, also professionally known as Octavio Shunyata, an independent multidisciplinary visual artist with over ten years of experience working as a freelance artist in artistic, cultural, and creative projects.

My artistic practice is developed under my project Infinito Imaginario and spans across body painting, special effects makeup and prosthetics, mural art, performance, and visual interventions. I work at the intersection of body, space, and human experience, creating visual narratives that connect the intimate and the collective.

For me, art is more than aesthetic expression: it is a way of opening perception, transforming spaces and bodies, and creating immersive experiences that invite reflection, participation, and emotional connection. Through murals, live performances, body art, and site-specific actions, I aim to create work that is not only seen, but deeply experienced.

I have collaborated with festivals, cultural initiatives, audiovisual productions, and independent artists, developing projects in Mexico, Canada, and international contexts, both in public and private spaces.
